Call for Applications | C19 Podcast Subcommittee 2024-2026 

 

The C19 Podcast Subcommittee seeks to bring on new members for the 2024-2026 term! We welcome applications from scholars of all ranks who are committed to public scholarship, collaboration, and amplifying a diverse range of voices. Join us in building a platform that showcases vibrant, dynamic approaches to long nineteenth-century American studies broadly defined. This appointment begins in January 2024 and concludes in December 2026 with the opportunity to renew for the 2026-2028 term. Duties include:

  • Peer reviewing episode proposals

  • Offering general support, storytelling guidance, and post-production help to episode creators

  • Assisting with promotion and expansion of podcast reach 

  • Meeting monthly with the full Subcommittee to help shape the direction and practices of the podcast as a whole

 

Applicants who have reflected on the unique attributes of the podcast form, are creative, possess strong communication skills, and display a willingness to think across disciplinary, institutional, academic/non-academic lines are encouraged to apply. Project management skills and organizational thinking are a plus.

 

Prior experience specific to podcasting is useful but not required! We are primarily looking for individuals who possess a desire to learn and willingness to experiment. Mentoring as well as technical and production training will be provided upon joining the podcast team.
