Call for Podcast Committee Members
The C19 Podcast Subcommittee seeks new members for 2022-2024! We welcome applications from scholars of all ranks across a diverse range of voices and experiences who are committed to public scholarship and collaboration. Join us in the building of a transnational public platform for vibrant, dynamic approaches to long nineteenth-century American studies broadly defined. Duties include:
-
Developing episodes related to the biennial conferences and ad hoc events;
-
Offering general support, storytelling guidance, and post-production help to episode creators;
-
Assisting with promotion and expansion of podcast reach;
-
Meeting monthly with Committee Chairs to help shape the direction and practices of the podcast as a whole.
Creativity with audio and podcast format, plus a willingness to think across disciplinary, institutional, academic/non-academic lines is encouraged!
Prior experience specific to podcasting is useful but not required; more important is a desire to learn and willingness to experiment. Mentoring as well as technical and production training will be provided upon joining the podcast team. Project management skills and organizational thinking are a plus.
Application: CV and a 400 word max statement about why you want to join our team, what ideas you have for the future of the podcast, and an example of a podcast or podcast episode that inspires you (doesn’t have to be ours!).
Submit applications and any questions to Doug Guerra, Chair of the C19 Podcast Subcommittee, at c19podcast@gmail.com.
Deadline: July 15, 2021
